Cooking Tips for Bhindi Masala

It is possible that you may need a few tries to create a restaurant-worthy bhindi masala. Or you could simply employ these tricks and bhindi cooking techniques to elevate your dish.

No matter which ladies finger recipe you use, okra tends to turn sticky. There are several techniques to solve this bhindi cooking issue, among them the most important is to ensure that it is completely dried after washing. Any remnants of water in your dish can lead to steamed okra rather than a stir-fried dish.

If you tend to fry the okra before making the bhindi ki sabji, then a great rule of thumb is to do so in batches. Avoid overcrowding the pan, this will ensure you get a perfect roasted brown colour and prevent any slime or mushiness.

Don’t be afraid to add any more spice to your bhindi vegetable recipe. Half a teaspoon of red chilli powder can add a fiery kick to the dish. If you are not one for the heat, you may tone it down with yoghurt. This allows for a much creamier take on the dry bhindi masala.

Apart from warm rotis, you can serve this delicious dish with a side of raita (yoghurt-based dip with finely chopped vegetables) or a tangy chopped cucumber salad with a drizzle of lemon juice.

There is a reason why okra is loved across the country. It is versatile as it is delicious. The vegetable can be easily made into simple stir-fried Bhindi Masala or elaborate curries. Let this bhindi recipe become a tool in your arsenal the next time you are tired and wonder, ‘What do I make today?’.
